Our Frontend engineers are ready to face any challenges and are comfortable working with different JavaScript frameworks. We even like to take it up a notch and experiment with fresh digital open source web technologies like Electron/RxJS & socket.io. We believe we can fulfill even the trickiest of demands.
Job Description
We are looking for a React Engineer who can help our team work on a complex project with a lot of business logic. The candidate should have a strong background in computer science with experience using React, HTML, and CSS. The main app is created with Backbone but there will be no interaction with this technology, as it’s only used for maintenance and not new features. The project is split into multiple features/mini-projects; right now the accessibility side of things is a strong theme for the foreseeable future. The team is working on multiple products such as Virtual Machines, Storage Containers, and Volume Groups. The project is very well-documented and organized. Project team: 4 people on Frontend (React) within Bytex. They work directly with the team in Berlin, which has 6 people, but they interact with several other teams.
Responsibilities
- Main tech stack: React, HTML, CSS.
- Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
- Testing with Jasmine, Karma, Jest (must), React testing library, and Playwright.
- Working closely with multiple customer-side engineers, both from the US and India; all engineers are seniors.
Skills and Qualifications
- In-depth React knowledge, firm opinions on the latest features, and a thorough understanding of its core principles;
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS;
- Understanding of object-oriented programming;
- Very good understanding of UI design and a user-oriented focus;
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git;
- Experience with data structure libraries;
- Experience with testing;
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements;
- Great communication and teamwork skills;
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
Working schedule
- EU typical schedule (09:00 – 18:00 – 1 hour lunch break)
- Meetings:
○ Daily meetings at 10:00 Romania time
○ 1-2 meetings per week during the daytime
○ 2 evening meetings at 18:00 Romania time – one every 2 weeks and one every week (not mandatory, they can leave a written status if they cannot join these) - No evening work, the customer always recommends not doing overtime
Recruitment process
- Short Bytex HR introductory discussion
- 1-2h Bytex technical discussion with one of our senior React engineers
- Customer interview with direct manager and 1 senior engineer (1.5h)
- Offer presentation
