As you know, we believe UI/UX design to be the cornerstone of a well-performing, intuitive application. For this reason, we made a priority out of investing in our UI/UX services, so much so that we have significantly grown our design team in 2020. We plan to reach new heights in terms of performance and we are eager to see what the future has in store for us in this sense.

We believe that these achievements and high hopes called for a celebration, and what better way to do this than through a new internal tradition? We proclaimed August to be UX Month at Bytex, and we gave back to the community through #uxatbytex, a series of educational videos dedicated to the intricacies of UX design.

While we’ve shared this series on our social channels, it is our pleasure to bring it to our blog as well. Our first video introduces our speakers – Iulia, Alex and Mihai – and spotlights their professional journeys and key motivations, with the following sessions covering topics such as UX sprints, in-depth ideation and collaboration with stakeholders.

Enjoy the first installment and make sure to watch the entire series. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to drop us a line.

You can view our entire playlist on our Youtube channel. For ease of access, we’re happy to also provide the transcript below.

Iulia: Hi, my name is Iulia, I am a UI/UX designer at Bytex. I’m very passionate about design, so much so that I actually decided to pursue it full time even though I have a degree that allows me to repair teeth for a living. My favorite part when it comes to the UX process are the client calls, because they allow me to understand their business values, their needs, their users’ needs, and translate everything into features that make their product even better, and I believe that’s what drives me the most.

Alex: Hi, my name is Alex and I am a UI/UX designer at Bytex. I started my career in videography, so I guess you could say that I’ve always had an interest in the visual side of things. What I like about videography is the fact that in some way it links to UX design by having the end goal of providing an enjoyable viewing experience for the viewer, or in the case of UX design, the user. So this is one of the things that gets me going – finding ways to make the product that users use as frictionless as possible, and creating a UI that’s easy to understand and makes sense just by looking at it.

Mihai: Hi, I’m Mihai, I’m the lead designer at Bytex. Since childhood, I’ve always been interested in how things are built and what is the process behind them. But I must admit I never had the patience to replicate something identical. I’ve always had the feeling and the passion to add something – a personal touch – to a certain creation. I think that what drove me in the last twelve years in the user experience field is to be able to apply the process to create, iterate and learn from each experience. Through all these years I had the opportunity to interact with a lot of people, whether they were users, colleagues or clients, and what amazes me the most is the ability that we have – we, as human beings – to learn from each other.

Mihai: As you can see, we’re very passionate about our job, and that’s why we’ve built here, at Bytex, a strong UX team with the foundation of some strong, core values like collaboration, integrity and proactiveness, and we also know that a good app also implies very good design.

Iulia: Therefore, every web experience we’re trying to build begins with the user. For this we’ve created a UX process that really combines creativity with entrepreneurship.

Alex: Yeah, and we always bring our best to the table, so as we partner up with our customers, we deliver rock solid products.

Mihai: We are very proud of our UX team and of the culture we’ve built here, at Bytex, and we decided to celebrate it, to give back to the community through a series of videos, educational videos, to share our knowledge and experiences.

Iulia: In the following videos we will cover such topics as how we organize our UX work, how we combine the practical with the not so practical, and how we always manage to stay on the same page as our customers.

Alex: Join us next Friday when we will dive into how our UX sprints work, and if you have any other questions, you can leave them in the comments.
